TOPIC ISSUE NO. 1: Potential Purchase of Stars & Stripes

Dear Board Members:

With the release of the fact that Stars & Stripes is up for sale, and the Pentagon's wish to buy the paper this could be an issue worth sticking our noses into.  Without question, the Pentagon's interest in this publication is an attempt to silence free speech.  Worse yet, the purchase is going to be made with our money anyway!

If any action is taken at all, should we not at least get involved in the bidding process to gain attention for the "American Volunteers Movement" and inform the nation about all the veterans' organizations that are in American and working together for the common good of the nation?

Suggestion:  What if we in the veterans' community took control of the paper?  I bet if we gathered enough support among the 27 million veterans' and our loved ones in the nation and all donated $5.00, we could take control of this paper.

Without question, Stars & Stripes has been our voice piece so to speak and it now looks like the attempt to silence our issues is underway with the Pentagon's interest in the paper.

Any thoughts?
